Services

At Aspect Speech Therapy, we provide in person speech and language therapy for infants, toddlers, and school aged children. Every child is unique, so we tailor therapy to their individual strengths, interests, and communication style, creating engaging sessions that support meaningful progress through play and everyday experiences.

Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is an in person appointment designed to help us get to know your child and understand their communication strengths, needs, and interests. It also gives you the opportunity to share your concerns, ask questions, and discuss your child's development in a relaxed and supportive environment.

During the consultation, we will:

  • Get to know your child through play.

  • Explore their communication strengths and needs.

  • Discuss your concerns and developmental history.

  • Review any relevant reports or information.

  • Recommend the most appropriate next steps.

Our goal is to ensure you leave the consultation with a better understanding of your child's communication and a clear plan for moving forward.

Speech Therapy Session

Speech therapy sessions are delivered in person and are tailored to your child's individual strengths, interests, and communication goals. Through play, everyday activities, and meaningful interaction, we create opportunities for children to build communication skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Sessions may focus on:

  • Developing speech and language skills.

  • Building confidence in communication.

  • Supporting social interaction and play.

  • Expanding functional communication.

  • Coaching parents with practical strategies.

Whether your child communicates through speech, gestures, signs, pictures, or AAC, therapy is adapted to meet them where they are. Working together in person also allows us to model strategies during the session and provide guidance that can be carried into everyday life at home.

Assessments

Formal assessments provide a detailed understanding of your child's communication strengths and areas of need. They may be recommended following an initial consultation when additional information is needed to guide diagnosis, intervention, or recommendations.

Assessment options include:

  • Speech Sound Assessment

  • Language Assessment

  • Combined Speech & Language Assessment

  • Fluency (Stammering) Assessment

  • Social Communication Assessment

  • AAC Assessment

Following the assessment, you'll receive clear feedback, practical recommendations, and a comprehensive written report where applicable, helping you understand your child's communication profile and the most appropriate next steps.

Flexible Appointment Options

Most children benefit from attending therapy in person, particularly during the early years. However, online appointments can be a practical option in some situations.

Online appointments may be appropriate for:

  • Parent consultations and coaching.

  • Follow up appointments.

  • Older children, where clinically appropriate.

  • Families who are unable to attend the clinic.

We're happy to discuss the most suitable option based on your child's individual needs.
