About Aspect Speech Therapy

Aspect Speech Therapy was founded to provide children and their families with timely, individualised speech and language therapy at a time when many continue to face waiting lists of several years for support.

For young children, early intervention can play a crucial role in communication development. Unfortunately, many families find themselves waiting months or even years for services, often missing valuable opportunities during key stages of development. When therapy does become available, the level of individualised support families need is not always possible within the public system.

Aspect Speech Therapy was created to provide another option for families seeking evidence based, family centred therapy tailored to each child's unique strengths, needs, and goals, with the aim of providing the right support at the right time.

Meet the Team

At Aspect Speech Therapy, our team is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for every child and family. We work together to create engaging, individualised therapy that helps children build confidence and reach their communication goals.

All assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, and clinical decision making are carried out by Katelyn Whyte as the supervising CORU registered Speech and Language Therapist.

Katelyn Whyte MSc, SLT, CCC-SLP

CORU Registered Speech and Language Therapist
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)

Irish Associates of Speech & Languange Therapists Member

Licensed Speech Language Pathologist from PA Department of State

Professional Background & Qualifications

I’m a CORU registered and ASHA certified Speech and Language Therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting children and families.

I trained in the United States, completing both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated summa cum laude. I also hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), reflecting advanced clinical training and ongoing professional development.

Being registered to practise in both Ireland and the United States has given me experience across two healthcare systems and allows me to bring a broad clinical perspective to my work with children and families.

Much of my career has focused on early intervention, supporting toddlers and preschoolers during the years when communication is developing most rapidly. I’ve worked in home, community, and early childhood settings, alongside families navigating uncertainty, waiting lists, and decisions about support.

My Therapy Approach

Every child learns and communicates differently, so no two therapy plans are exactly the same. I take the time to understand each child's strengths, interests, and personality, then build therapy around what will help them communicate successfully in everyday life.

Children communicate in many different ways, and all of them are valid. Whether a child uses speech, gestures, signs, pictures, or AAC, my goal is to help them connect with others, express themselves confidently, and participate more fully in the world around them.

I also believe that parents and caregivers are an essential part of every child's progress. Therapy doesn't stop when a session ends, so I work closely with families to provide practical strategies and support that can be used throughout everyday routines.

Working in Ireland

My family and I relocated from the United States to Ireland in 2023, and we've loved making Dublin our home. Establishing Aspect Speech Therapy has allowed me to continue doing the work I'm passionate about while supporting children and families across Dublin and the surrounding areas.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children, exploring Ireland, and becoming part of the local community.

Keely O'Grady BSLP (Hons)

Registered Member, New Zealand Speech language Therapists' Association
Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Professional Background & Qualifications

I graduated with First Class Honours in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, where I developed a strong interest in supporting children and families. During my studies, I completed clinical placements across schools, specialist education settings, hospitals, rehabilitation services, and community clinics, working with children and adults with a wide range of communication needs. I also completed my capstone research project exploring the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to support social communication in minimally verbal autistic children.

As a registered member of the New Zealand Speech language Therapists' Association, I enjoy combining evidence based practice with creative, engaging therapy that helps children build confidence and develop meaningful communication skills.

My Therapy Approach

I believe every child deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported. I enjoy creating therapy activities that are engaging, motivating, and tailored to each child's interests, helping them develop communication skills through play, everyday routines, and meaningful interactions.

Building positive relationships with children and their families is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. I enjoy working closely with parents and caregivers, providing practical support and encouragement while working alongside Katelyn to deliver therapy programmes tailored to each child's individual goals.

Beyond Speech Therapy

Although I grew up in New Zealand, I also have strong Irish roots through my family. Irish dancing has been a part of my life from a young age, and after teaching dance in New Zealand for several years, I now enjoy teaching children here in Dublin.

In 2024, I was honoured to be crowned the International Rose of Tralee. During my year in the role, I represented the festival at schools, charities, and community events across Ireland and internationally, experiences that strengthened my connection with Ireland and ultimately led me to make Dublin my home. I also enjoy giving back to the local community through my involvement with the Lighthouse Project in Ballymun.
